Where to go for that morning coffee? Where can you find the best place to take the kids for dinner? We know how it can be when on holiday, so many options and how do you know what is good? Well, we’ve kept it simple – everything on this list is great! Our best eats and coffee in Rotorua!

Breakfast stops – whether just coffee or a full meal.

Eastwood Cafe – located in the Scion Building at the end of Long Mile Road, Redwoods.
Great local eatery which uses lots of organic and locally grown produce from the Rotorua region. Popular with locals and visitors alike, they offer a fab breakfast  and lunch menu and are also open for woodfire pizzas late on a Friday & Saturday evening. Great place to go for a walk in the Redwoods before or after your stop!

Revolver Espresso at Vetro – Amohau Street
Some of the best coffee in town and our favourite place for an almond croissant, the café is located inside the Vetro Mediterranean Foods store so there are plenty of tasty treats to browse while you wait!
You’ll also find Revolver coffee stocked in the rooms at Aura, we love it that much!

Bird the Word – Fenton Street
The perfect two minute stroll from Aura, you’ll often find the team picking up our morning coffee from here – keep cups always! They have a great menu with something for everyone and some delicious little homemade scones and cabinet foods options.

Great Coffee, Great Keep Cup!

Interval Eatery – Hinemoa Street
A coffee, a bite to eat or a full lunch with friends, Interval is a great little Rotorua gem! A few of our favorite’s, the Chicken Roti Wrap and the Vegetarian ‘sausage roll’, always hit the spot! These guys are also great supporters of our favourites Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rotorua and the Rotorua Mountain Bike Club!

Ciabatta Bakery – White Street
Home to the famous ciabatta sammie, with bread made fresh in house, they are always a winner. Great place to swing by if you are planning a day by the lakes or exploring the Redwoods! Lots of fresh and fantastic sweets, treats and goodies to go with your coffee.

Midday bites, late lunches or dinner- these are the places we head to!

El Mexicano Zapata – Tutanekai Street
Fresh, fun and easy to share with family & friends, these guys have an awesome huge menu to choose from, great margaritas & an authentic flair to everything they do! Be sure to check how big the meals are, or you may end up with a few boxes to take home – not always a bad thing though!

Ali Baba’s Tunisian – Tutanekai Street
Just next door to El Zapata, Ali Baba’s is delicious, fresh & quick. Easy for lunch or dinner, offering kebabs, rice meals, pastas and pizza – they are super popular on the evenings and have been known to sell-out over summertime. Be sure to try their homemade berber sauce for a spice hit!

And Rice Japanese Kitchen – Tutanekai Street
With everything from ramen to bento boxes, sushi and donburi, this our our favourite stop for Japanese. Some great vegetarian options and quick service! You can also often find them holding a stall at the Thursday night market.

Atticus Finch – Eat Streat
Bistro style dining done best! With a menu designed to share, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The Eat St atmosphere plus a great wine list, fantastic service and the most amazing food, this is one of our top picks for a great night out in Rotorua!

A special mention to the Rotorua Night Market – held every Thursday night on the Village Green. Filled with lot of yummy food vendors & great live music, it’s a perfect way to spend an evening!
