Redwoods Altitude – 5 minute drive from Aura
Described as an ‘Indian Jones Style’ jungle experience, we absolutely felt like we were in another world climbing and swinging our way though the treetops in the Redwoods forest! A must-do for those who don’t mind a heights as you spend a couple of hours strapped in high off the forest floor as the guide takes you across 25 swing bridges, a few flying foxes and some extra’s thrown in that could possibly make the knees shake. The guides are fantastic at making you feel as ease and also have a huge amount of knowledge about the forest and the history.

We love this gallery! It’s perfect for all ages and would be a great place to spend a few hours if you need a break from the sun, rain or want an activity that’s a bit more low key for the young kids. The gallery is the only 3D trick art gallery of it’s kind in New Zealand and there are over 50 3D life-sized murals through-out the gallery for you to have fun with and be super creative!
The gallery is located at the Rotorua Heritage Farm which offers daily farm tours and they have opened a new cafe on-site which looks out over the farm and is the perfect spot for kids to hang out on the playground while you grab a coffee or ice-cream.
